RECAP: Acceletronics Exhibits Linear Accelerator Services at ASTRO Conference in San Antonio

We attended the 2015 American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Conference from October 18 to 21 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. As the premier radiation oncology scientific event in the world, our team enjoyed networking with other professionals from the healthcare imaging and radiation oncology community.

Drawing more than 11,000 attendees each year, the ASTRO conference is especially important to us. We were featured along with over 200 other companies exhibiting the latest products and cancer treatments.

This year’s schedule of events included interactive learning labs, nursing sessions, expert panels and discussions surrounding various types of cancer, challenging cases, patient behaviors, safety, non-invasive surgery procedures and much more.

The event, overall, was a success; To speak to this success, ASTRO provides some interesting statistics:

  • 49% of attendees spent three or more hours in the exhibit hall
  • 44% plan to try a product or purchase capital equipment as a result of visiting the exhibit hall
  • 79% of attendees describe their roll in purchasing as being the final decision maker, specifying suppliers or recommending purchases

Based on these statistics, we’re glad to have been able to display our services and products in the exhibit hall.

In the Acceletronics section of our booth, we displayed brochures highlighting our many linear accelerator services, which include linear accelerator repair and maintenance, equipment installations, removals and disposals, Theraview IGRT solutions, clinical applications training, expert relocations and much more!

Radparts had its own side of the booth; here, we displayed numerous linear accelerator replacement parts including magnetrons, thyratrons and Linac waveguides.
